All Set Protectors are certified mental health first aiders, coaches, counsellors, or therapists. They also have a background and/or experience with the arts and entertainment industries. ​

Marina Serrao

TRA, Relational Therapist, Documentary Producer

Marina has been working in the film industry for over a decade, in both the narrative and documentary worlds in New Zealand and in her hometown of Montreal, Quebec. Marina is an award-winning documentary producer and has worked on many features and series throughout her career. Marina is also a Relationship therapist (TRA®) with a focus on helping people identify their needs and fears, accept and love who they are, and see their responsibility (response-ability), so they can have more satisfying relationships with family, colleagues, and friends. Working with the film industry to support team members by offering a space to be heard and understood, is fundamental to Marina’s practice. She is fluent in English, French and Spanish and is the daughter of immigrants from Argentina and Guyana, which has informed her worldview and brings a unique lived experience to her work.

Registered Professional Counsellor

Kevin has made it his life mission to help others - especially men - overcome mental health challenges after personally experiencing depression, anxiety, and a loss of self-worth while working in law enforcement in Toronto. He brings a wealth of expertise to his work with Set Protect including conflict resolution, crisis management, communication, stress reduction, and trauma-informed care by using a goal-oriented approach that focuses on practical solutions. Kevin is able to connect with folks on a deep level to provide personalized support that empowers them to achieve their full potential.

Nicole Nattrass

Coach, Counsellor & Actor

Nicolle’s work in a post pandemic world is grounded in two industries: as an actor (CAEA/UBCP), playwright (PGC), dramaturge, and director, as well as a coach and Addiction Counselor CAC II (CCPC Global/ Canadian Council of Professional Certification). Nicolle possesses a deep understanding of the demands and challenges of our industry, and the importance of protecting mental wellbeing along with creative processes and goals. She specializes in cultivating safer spaces to navigate difficult conversations like creative blocks, trauma, anxiety, mental health challenges, and substance misuse. She combines a trauma-informed approach with a Cycle of Care program that increases creative self-care tools and techniques for personal, professional, and artistic transformation. Nicolle is grateful to live, work and create on the unceded and ancestral territory of the Snaw’na’as First Nations people (Nanaimo, Vancouver Island). She is a lifelong learner and is currently taking Level one training as an Intimacy Coordinator, as well as advancing her training as a Cultivating Safe Spaces facilitator. Nicolle brings a wealth of experience to her work with Set Protect as one of our workshop facilitators, to deliver tailored sessions to the acting community and the industry at large.

Rita Chand

Registered Therapeutic Counsellor and Life Coach

Meet Rita. She’s a Certified Life Coach and Professional Counsellor based on Vancouver Island in BC, who supports and champions for everyone to live their most authentic and vibrant lives. Rita passionately believes that by tapping into and celebrating our greatness we can remove barriers that prevent us from achieving our goals. Through an integrative approach, she helps people create sustainable changes in their lives to become who they truly are. Rita specializes in areas such as bullying and harassment, career and life transitions, communication, relationships/intimacy, grief, accountability, goal setting, conflict resolution, setting boundaries, stress management, lifestyle management, balancing self-determined behaviours, self-care, mindfulness and so much more.
